By calling you, scammers seek to take your money or personal information. Phone calls from real people, robocalls, and SMS messages are all ways for scammers to contact you. Callers frequently make false promises, such as opportunities to buy products, invest money, or receive free product trials. They may also provide you with money in the form of free grants or lottery tickets. Some fraudsters may threaten you with jail or litigation if you do not pay up.


 It's all too typical to be duped by a broker. You must fight back if this happens to you! Online investment has exploded in popularity. The most common sorts of online trading include forex, CFDs, and cryptocurrency. It's never been easier to put in a few hundred dollars and use sophisticated trading tools and platforms to generate large profits. When this is the real situation, it benefits both brokers and customers.


Unfortunately, this is not always the case. People are frequently duped by a broker trade scam, which takes a large sum of money up front and then not only fails to offer a big return on their investment, but also refuses to repay it.

It's important to report phone scams to federal agencies. They can’t investigate individual cases. But your report can help them collect evidence for lawsuits against scammers.

Report telephone scams online to the Federal Trade Commission. You can also call 1-877-382-4357 (TTY: 1-866-653-4261). The FTC is the primary government agency that collects scam complaints.  

Report all robocalls and unwanted telemarketing calls to the Do Not Call Registry.  

Report caller ID spoofing to the Federal Communications Commission. You can report either online or by phone at 1-888-225-5322 (TTY: 1-888-835-5322).
